Frequently asked questions
- Does this preserve the original PDF's exact layout?
- No. This tool extracts the text content and reflows it into a Word document with simple paragraph breaks. Tables, images, columns, and precise formatting from the original PDF are not preserved. It's built for getting editable text out of a PDF, not for a pixel-perfect layout clone.
- Why did I get an error about no extractable text?
- Some PDFs are scans — images of pages with no underlying text layer. This tool reads existing text; it does not run OCR. If your PDF was created by scanning a paper document, this tool can't extract text from it.
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. The PDF never leaves your device — extraction and document generation both happen in your browser using JavaScript.
