Angle converters

Angle measures rotation or the opening between two rays. Degrees, dividing a full turn into 360 parts, date to Babylonian sexagesimal astronomy; radians, the SI-coherent unit, are defined as the angle subtended by an arc equal in length to the radius (SI Brochure, 9th edition). One full turn is exactly 360 degrees, 2π radians, or 400 gradians.

Angle units in terms of the degree

Every angle unit on Convertitive is defined as an exact ratio of the degree (°), the reference unit for this category. The table below shows what one of each unit equals in degrees — the constant every converter on this page is built from.

To convert between any two units, Convertitive scales the input to degrees using these factors and then back out to the target unit — so every result on this page traces to a single, exact definition rather than a chained approximation.
